AEA(S) Milestones

2002: AEA(S) Established. Initiated by the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore

2003: The AEA(S) accreditation scheme, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)

The scheme was aimed to enhance professionalism and raise standards among employment agencies in Singapore, particularly those dealing with foreign domestic workers. In essence, AEA(S) accreditation was a way to identify and work with reputable employment agencies that are committed to upholding high standards of service and ethical practices. AEA(S) has facilitated Dispute Resolution Mechanism (DRM) for Employers and Employment Agency since 2003.

2009: INTEGRA EA Portal, Initiative

Far ahead of its, time AEA(S) embarked on its digitalisation transformation efforts for the Employment Agencies Industry.

2012: CASH ADVANCE FOR FDWs FROM THE PHILIPPINES

After 5 years of discussion and negotiation, since 2012 with the Embassy of Philippines and DOLE. Finally arrived at a with a win win solution for all. Agencies were allowed to provide cash advancement to MDWs and facilitate for them to repay it after their arrival in Singapore.

2014: Feb: Launch of EA Professionalism Development (EAPD) Course

A specialist program for Employment Agency Owners, Key Appointment Holders, EA Personnel and Admin Support Staff or for anyone who wants to know more about the EA Industry. EAPD Course is a complete guide for Employment Agencies to run your business efficiently and effectively.

2016: Launch Of EA Trust (Indonesia) - Memorandum of Understanding

On the 19th February 2016, AEA(S) signed an MOU with BNP2TKI to avail better protection for the FDWs from Indonesia. It covered very crucial issues such as Finance and Loan to the FDWs, Bank Accounts and Cashless Payment to the FDWs, Training and Quality of the FDWs. Promoting transparency and welfare of the FDWs. A win win scheme not only for the FDWs but also for the employers who did not have to be burdened with Advance Placement Fee and play the role of Bankers.

2016: Cambodia – New Source Approved

Cambodia is now an approved source for Singapore. The first proposal was submitted in 2007 and after 9 years of hard work under the leadership of various Presidents of AEA(S) and 4 Years of the Pilot, finally MOM has given us the green light in October 2016. From October 2016 all EAs can recruit and deploy from Cambodia.

 

2016: Advance Placement Scheme

Time and Again AEA(S) has proposed initiatives to the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore. One such initiative is the Advance Placement Scheme. MOM has facilitated the Industry with a Pilot Scheme especially for Caregivers called the Advance Placement Scheme. Wherein qualified Caregivers can be recruited and arrive in Singapore even before they have employers. This scheme once it becomes an industry norm will allow EAs to serve their clients efficiently and effectively. Reducing the waiting time for employers who are employing Caregivers for their loved ones.

2016: Sri Lanka - Memorandum of Understanding

MOU was signed with the Sri Lankan, SLFBE authorities on 15th March 2017.  With this MOU we looked forward to increased number of MDWs coming to Singapore from Sri Lanka coming and also with the right skills.

2019: Partnership with International Institute of Mediators (Singapore) IIM

Since 2019, AEA(S) has partner IIM to conduct mediation for matters raised to AEA(S) to further enhance impartiality and expert services. Mediation is a process wherein the parties meet with a mutually selected impartial and neutral person who assists them in the negotiation of their differences.

AEA(S) DRM is dependable, trustworthy, and impartial. Processes have been developed and tested for the past 20 years to achieve constructive outcome and professional experience for all.

2019: Partnership with Singtel and Singtel Dash

 

2019: Launch of EA365, EA Go Digital Initiative

AEA(S) promotes digitalisation for its industry. EA Go Digital Solutions; EA 365 is an enhanced administration platform that will leave EA staff lots of free time to serve their clients better

For Employment Agencies. Save cost and time and be compliant. EA365 is all you need for efficient and reliable backend processing.

2020: Launch of My Caregiver, My Maid Agency Portal

Marketing portals My Caregiver, for Caregivers which was essential for both the Employer and the Employment Agencies.

2020: Partnership with NTUC

NTUC has conferred the Partner of Labour Movement (Organisation) Award upon the Association of Employment Agencies (Singapore) on 28th April 2021.

AEA(S) has been an advocate of the Labour Movement and promotes U SME and NTUC to its members.

2021:  COVID 19 – Pandemic SHN facilities both abroad and locally.

Functioned as the industry information Centre, for all stake holders gathering and sharing information and updates real time and many more, the list is extensive. We facilitated for 1000’s of migrant workers and domestic workers to cross the borders and to safely be placed with their employers.

2023: Launch of AEA(S) Fun Club

EA(S) Fun Club was launched on the 8th January 2023, together with our treasured partner The Rice Company Limited (TRCL).

AEA(S) Fun Club is truly reflective of its name where FUN is the element whilst the focus is on mental wellness.

Curated programs that focus on Health, Mental Wellness, Financial Literacy and Self Development of MDWs; conducted by professional trainers and facilitated. Monthly Outdoor Activities facilitate MDWs to venues such as National Museum Special Exhibitions, Sentosa, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer and many more!

AEA(S) Fun Club will be a safe haven especially for the new arrivals and many whom have not been out on their own as well as for those who are looking for meaningful and FUN activities.

AEA(S) Fun Club will ensure that our MDWs are empowered and exposed to activities, knowledge and experiences which they will bring home to share with their families in Singapore and back home. For them to cherish and remember their FUN days in Singapore.
